The Department of Agricultural and Forest Engineering specializes in various areas of knowledge related to the application of engineering in agriculture, forestry and construction. The department focuses on teaching and research in two Campus of the Universitat de Lleida: the Campus ETSEA where the School of Agrifood and Forestry Science and Engineering is located, and the Campus Cappont-EPS with its Polytechnic School. The headquarters of the Department of Agricultural and Forest Engineering are at the Campus ETSEA, where the director and the secretary offices are located.

At the Campus ETSEA, the tasks of the department are focused on teaching and research in engineering applied to agriculture, livestock and the environment. Within these areas related to biosystems engineering, professors are basically specialized in rural constructions, irrigation engineering, precision agriculture, agricultural infrastructures, forest industries and transformation processes and in forest planning and landscape ecology.

At the cappont EPS, the department has basically professors specialized in the field of construction and civil engineering (technical architecture and mechanical engineering studies), being also significant their participation in subjects related to electrical engineering and mechatronics.
